The first meeting back for us after recess, and as usual for September, a lower than average turn-out, with a number of brethren still being in holiday mode.

The business of the evening was the initiation of a new member.  The very first one fully recruited through our website!  Having first shown an interest in February, we spent a good amount of time getting to know him, inviting him for beers and curries, as well as social nights, in order both to make sure we were right for him, and he was right for us.  It is safe to say that, after his first appearance in the lodge, it appears he is going to fit in well.

Fraternal visitors for the night were Nautilus Lodge No. 4259, for the second year running represented by Bro Ian Wardle (he'll complete his hat-trick next year, when he'll be in his rightful role as their WM), and Amity Lodge No. 3193. As ever, we were thankful for their company.

A very good festive board followed the meeting.
